𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | 𝐓𝐀𝐔 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

Dr. Amy Lizbeth J. Rico, an Associate Professor of the College of Engineering and Technology and Manager of the TAU SMART Agriculture Center  served as guest speaker during the International Experts Sharing Meeting “Smart Agriculture Training for Rural Development,” held on 10 April via Zoom. 

The event was organized by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Technical Education Development and China-ASEAN Technical Education Cooperation Platform, in collaboration with UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education. The conference brought together leading experts, academicians, and other key opinion leaders from China and ASEAN nations for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of smart agriculture and rural development.

Dr. Rico, in her speech, focused on the innovations by TAU in the field of smart agriculture, stressing the importance of technological advancements in making agriculture more productive, sustainable, and resilient. She also discussed the practical experiences of the TAU SMART Agriculture Center, focusing on how training programs and interventions based on research help in capacity building among stakeholders in agriculture.

This International Experts Sharing Meeting offered an excellent platform for interdisciplinary dialogues, which made it possible for the participants to interact with experts and understand trends prevailing in the fields of education, technology, and sustainability.

The involvement of Dr. Rico serves to highlight TAU’s dedication towards making its contributions to global discussions on how knowledge can be advanced in relation to smart agriculture.
